Ukraine enacts sanctions against Russian firms, officials

KIEV, Jan 24 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky enacted a ruling of the National Security and Defense Council to introduce sanctions against several foreign companies, including Russian, and a large list of officials on January 22.

The company list includes Lenmorniiproekt, Lenmortransproekt, Strakhovaya Biznes Gruppa (Insurance Business Group), Geozemstroi, Giproshakht, Giprogor, Krymsetenergo and other.

The restrictions include asset freezes, limitations on trade transactions, and suspension of licenses for five years.

Zelensky also enacted sanctions against Russia's presidential envoy to North Caucasus Yury Chaika, several judges, state officials of Crimea and representatives of the law enforcement authorities.
